Next-Generation Scalable Network

With an aim to create multi-gigabit access networks, Telcos and
Enterprises across the globe are looking to build converged data
networks that are reliable, scalable, resilient, and can support
wireless and wired connectivity

Future–Generation Enterprise Networks

Aging networks create several challenges - including lesser revenue,
higher failure rates, lack of standardisation, interoperability, and
compromised network security. Legacy networks severely limit the
ability to respond to changing customer expectations, and hence
reduce the business opportunities.

There is an ever-growing demand for lower latency and improved data speeds and capacity. Growing consumption of video streaming, digital transformation of the enterprises coupled with an increasing reliance on the internet to carry out our personal and professional tasks is contributing to this. Upcoming Internet of Things (IoT), 4K and 8K videos, and several forthcoming immersive digital use cases are further likely to increase this demand. Wi-Fi 6, the sixth generation of Wi-Fi 6 technology, is designed to address these demands.

STL’s Wi-Fi 6 solution is a carrier-grade high capacity outdoor Wi-Fi 6 access point. It leverages the latest Wi-Fi standards and enables service providers to deliver a wide range of exciting and innovative offerings to their customers with speed, scale and efficiency even in the most densely crowded environments. Wi-Fi 6 or 802.1 1ax is the latest Wi-Fi 6 standard. It ensures better high-density performance and faster speed, resulting in an overall improved end-user experience. Wi-Fi 6 is specifically designed to provide greater efficiencies for always-on connectivity requirementsin real-world scenarios without impacting the quality. Additionally, it provides wider coverage, enhanced reliability and improved IoT operations.

Several new features, such as Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiple Access (OFDMA), Target Wake Time (TWT) and Multi-User Multiple Input, Multiple Output (MU-MIMO), among others, make Wi-Fi 6 a better standard than the previous standards and geared towards addressing the increased demands on the networks now. These features of Wi-Fi 6 allow the users to benefit from ultra-high-speed connectivity without any performance degradation.
While OFDMA helps enables low-latency in high-demand performance, MU-MIMO allows more data to be transmitted at any given time on Wi-Fi 6. On the other hand, TWT improves battery life and brings down power consumption, which is crucial for Internet of Things (IoT) devices.
Additionally, Wi-Fi 6 also comes with the feature of Basic Service Set Coloring, which enables the transmission of data to several devices in a high-density area. Further, 1024-Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (1024-QAM) allows higher data throughput and capacity.

The IoT promises to significantly increase the number of connected devices. This will lead to an increase in the capacity requirement. The TWT feature of Wi-Fi 6 is designed to address this requirement. It allows access points at a specific time or series of times for IoT devices to access the wireless network. This ensures optimum usage of IoT device battery since not all devices need to transmit data all the time on the network.
Apart from TWT, other features like MU-MIMO and OFDMA also ensure that Wi-Fi 6 provides improved coverage in high-density locations and are able to connect several devices without any impact on quality.

Besides providing high-speed connectivity and low-latency experience to a higher number of devices, Wi-Fi 6 will make it easier for businesses to cost-effectively process a large amount of data and use analytics to gain a business edge.As a result, it can accelerate the adoption of IoT use cases by businesses.
Since Wi-Fi 6 is built to improve digital experiences, most industry verticals stand to benefit from the latest Wi-Fi 6 standards. So whether you want to do videoconferencing or video stream the latest episodes of your favourite series, Wi-Fi 6 will provide high-speed connectivity. Manufacturing, Retail, hospitality, healthcare, public sector, BFSI and education are just some of the industries that will be able to take advantage of the new functionalities offered by Wi-Fi 6.
Any use case that needs to support a large number of people or needs to use devices or sensors with low power consumption can benefit from Wi-Fi 6.

Wi-Fi 6 and 5G are often compared because they both provide higher data rates, low latency and enhanced data capacity with the ability to connect more users and devices. However, they take a different approach. Wi-Fi 6 uses unlicensed networks while 5G uses licensed spectrum.
Both the technologies are likely to complement each other. Together Wi-Fi 6 and 5G will enable an era of hyper-connectivity. While Wi-Fi 6 is expected to emerge as an access choice for indoor networks, especially enterprise networks, 5G will provide high-speed connectivity in the outdoor areas. Together the two will facilitate several use cases like connected cars, remote surgery, and Industry 4.0, among others. Wi-Fi 6 and 5G will also offer several enhanced mobile broadband for immersive experience through augmented reality and Virtual reality,
